| In this course on Celestial Navigation, we learn to use the sextant , chronometer, Nautical Almanac and Sight Reduction Tables (Pub. 249) to establish our position from sights on the Sun, Moon, Stars and Planets. Additional uses of the sextant are shown. The overall method and detailed calculations are explained logically and clearly, at a realistic pace, using a manual which includes many examples and exercises for each step, and is illustrated with a large number of clear and simple graphics. |
