June 30th, 2021 – Victoria, BC – The Mariners Centre, Nova Scotia has chosen Book King’s Facility Scheduling, Registration, Membership, Public Access and Point of Sale Modules.

The Mariners Centre, located in Southwestern Nova Scotia is a two-rink complex that is owned by the Town of Yarmouth with contributions from the Municipality of the District of Argyle. With the implementation of Canada’s leading Recreation Management Software, Book King, the Mariners Centre can offer additional services and operate both locations in one integrated system.

Book King Software will allow the Mariners Centre staff and residents to easily and conveniently manage all of their recreational needs for facility rentals, program registration, membership management and point of sale. Book King’s convenient online self-service functionality will benefit residents and users of both locations.

About The Mariners Centre

The Mariners Centre is a multi-purpose and double ice surface arena in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. It officially opened on November 28, 2001 and the building size is 65,000 square feet (6,000 m2). It is home to the Yarmouth Mariners of the Maritime Junior Hockey League. The facility hosted the 2005 Fred Page Cup and hosted the New York Islanders training camp in September, 2005 and the Islanders returned for their training camp in 2006 with their new head coach, Ted Nolan. The Mariners Centre hosted the World Junior A Challenge in November 2012 and 2013. The Y.M.C.A. holds swim lessons, recreational swims, lifesaving courses, aquatic fitness and is home to the Whitecaps Swim Team. The Y.M.C.A. also offers a variety of land-based fitness classes as well as fitness equipment. There are several free children and youth programs available including indoor playground in the gymnasium, free swim, Friday Night Fun for children and youth 6 – 16 and pick-up basketball.
